The 9:20 Special is our weekly dance party that has been a staple of the San Francisco Dance scene since 1998.

Originally intended as a practice party for our students, the 9:20 quickly evolved into the most popular spot to go dancing on Thursday nights in the Bay Area.   Today the 9:20 Special regularly draws over 150 people and is known as one of the most friendly, fun, and casual dances in the Bay Area.

We are happy to say that even though we are leaving the Bay Area, the party will go on!   Jeff Ho, who has been helping us out at the front desk since we moved to our location, will be running the show.   He is putting together a website, www.920special.com , where you can go to find out what is happening.

Manu Smith will be teaching the level 3 and level 2 classes before the party. The format, price and time of the classes will remain the same EXCEPT that the level 2 class will now be drop in only.

For those of you who haven't met Manu- he has recently moved here from NYC and is one of the cofounders of Yehoodi.com. He travels and teaches all over the US and beyond- he is well known for his sense of humor and his fun approach to dancing. We think that he will be a great fit with the 920 Special. He will be teaching with several different and talented Bay Area followers. Manu will also be occasionally DJing for the party as well.

The 920 regular DJ will be Jeremy Lewis, who has been substitute DJing for us a few weeks and has a DJ style very similar to Sharon's. Jeremy has been coming every week to the 920 for years and he knows the feel of the party better than anyone.

The 9:20 Special is held every Thursday at the Russian Center in San Francisco 2450 Sutter and Divisidero- Street parking is relatively easy to find
